Subject

Batavia Nov 26th 1852 Respected Friend Yours of the 5th was recd in due season, but Amos was absent on business for Mr Bristol, and did not return till yesterday, so it has laid unanswered till now—I can write when he is here to tell me what to write, but of myself, know but little of what is for the best, I prefer (as in duty bound) to trust to his better judgement in business matters— We still think that if the 2 acres will bring $50, per acre, the farm ought to bring as much; it certainly must be worth it—But rather than put others to the trouble of overseeing the repairs necessary to be made, we are willing to sell for less than its value—If H. Coleman is still willing to stand by the offer he made last spring, before the line fence was made—and will give $45. per acre and pay for the making of the line fence & all other improvements which have been made since, and the year’s rent, we think as you do, that it is better to sell than to rent and are willing he should have it— We repeat what we once wrote before that we will give a deed for the one undivided half of the 100 acres, but are not willing to share the expense of getting an Order for the Minor Heirs to sell— You have not informed us what Harrison’s mind was upon that point— If H Coleman will not agree to this bargain would it not be well to advertise it in the newspapers this winter? It seems to us that it would be money well laid out— and that our price hereafter will be $45. per acre with the cost of repairs and improvements added to it— Please write soon and keep us informed on this and all other subjects of interest— Our respects to all, We are all well; being in some haste I will close by subscribing ourselves Yours with respect Amos M Moore. Per, Phebe Moore
