These documents represent two distinct legal transactions involving the Bull and Green families in Hamptonburgh, Orange County, New York. The first (and primary) set of documents details a release of mortgage for a specific small parcel of land by a bank to a private couple in 1931. The second document is a 1921 quitclaim deed involving the Bull Family Picnic Association.
Document Summaries
A "Release" dated September 23, 1931. The New York Joint Stock Land Bank releases a 375-square-foot portion of land to Charles H. and Anna M. Green. This small piece, located near the "Sarah Wells marker," was released from a larger 1927 mortgage so the Greens could own it free and clear, likely to facilitate the placement or preservation of the historical marker.
A "Quit Claim" deed dated September 30, 1921. Trustees for the "Bull Family Picnic Association" transfer a tiny 15-square-foot section of a stone fence to the "William Bull and Sarah Wells Family Association, Inc." for the sum of $1.00.
