Smithtown, June 22nd, 1938.
Dear Cousins All:-
The lack of energy or more correctly just plain indolence has prevented me from attending to my correspondence as I ought to have done so now I must try and make up for past neglect. We had a very mild winter here and Mina and I have a very cozy room to spend our leisure time in so when there I just relaxed and either read or slept instead of writing as I might have done.
To day we are having our longest sunlight time of the year and I was up this morning in time to see the sun rise. It was beautiful every thing was so bright and fresh.
We were all every much interested in the card, dated March 17th, you sent and for the account of your niece. By the way it was through Mrs. Ebenezer Bull and Mrs. Wright Beyea that I first got in touch with your Association.
But of course we are still more deeply interested in our four cousins the former Miss Bulls who seem very nearly related to us since your brief call here nearly two years ago. I trust Mr and Mrs Brown still have charge of "The Old Stone House". That our Mother President Amy Bull Crist is well and taking good over sight of her extensive family of which I am proud to consider myself a member. Nor are we less interested in Mrs. Vandervort? and nurse Mollie indeed we greatly...

...wonder how she has escaped so long being snared in the bonds of matrimony.
We are hoping that you will come this way again this year the same as you did two years ago only we want you come prepared to stay longer. We sort of feel our President ought to come and get acquainted with our branch of her family.
I had a letter from Jean Hoeffler she wrote that she was going to Europe this summer. She had a wonderful time with you last autumn and want to go to see you again but does not want to "wear her welcome out." She wrote that she met Shirley Beyea and that reminds me how is that nephew of yours and Shirley coming on from a matrimonial standpoint - if they don't make a match I will think it must be his fault - for I never knew a Beyea, male of female who was not bent on getting a mate and I trust that she being a Beyea must be running true to form.
Mina has gone to Fredericton to visit our youngest daughter, she expects to stay a fortnight. Karl and Phoebe are both well and our two boys are coming on great; they have grown a lot since you were here and Karl has been going to school for over a year and has not missed a day since he started. Edwin Smith keeps about the same his sister is still with him.
Yours Sincerely,
Andrew S. Beyea
