Dear Cousin Barton:—
Have just finished writing to Molly and now will try writing to you, but first our two women and Karl want me to send to you all their kindest regards so I am writing that down before I forget it—
We have had no snow so far this winter and it has made it rather quiet here especially during the Christmas season. We are all well and times go on about the same as usual, if some snow would only fall it would liven things up a bit and give the lumbermen and others what have hauling to do a chance to get it done.

There is now a lot of logs cut and piled up in the woods that should be by now sawed and shipped for the boats are calling at Saint John for freight and cannot get it. Our Province you know has always been a great country for lumber, game and fish in earlier days we are told that Humphrey Bull shot in one day nine full grown moose, the snow was very deep and he found them herded up in a yard so he was able to shoot as many as he wished. Of course he divided the meat among his neighbours so all fared well. Moose are not so plentiful now but deer are so thick as be almost a nuisance, we often see a herd of half a dozen or more on our intervales feeding and sporting about and a good many

of them get killed on the sly without a license have been paid for the privelege [privilege] of shooting them. Bears are so plentiful in many parts of the Province that the Government is allowing any one to shoot them on sight.
Thanks so much for the splendid photo. of Mrs Amy Bull Crist you sent to me in your last letter. I now have two poses of that winsome lady presenting her in two different moods and I hope to see the lady herself next summer when we are all looking forward to a visit from her along with you, Mrs Bull and the rest of your family. We don't want you to hesitate on account of your number for if one house will not accommodate you we can easily billet you out among relatives.

I was glad to get the picture of the "Old Stone House" for it is the only one I have showing the side of the entrance.
Though it was as late 1920 before Mrs. H. Wright Beyea got me in touch with the "Old Stone House" it was not even then some new that I had just heard about for from my earliest childhood my father told me about it and we always had a record of William Bull his wife Sarah Wells and their family of twelve children. Why I had even heard of those spots on the wall of the house as [inserted: supposed] loop holes left for defence against the indians. Then to my father was greatly taken by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Bull when they

were here in the summer of 1851.
I should like very much to visit Mrs. Perkins at Woodstock but my youngest child lives in Fredericton and when I get that far it is hard to get any further up river untill [until] my time is up to come home.
Mrs. Beyea was up and spent a month with her just before Christmas she had a very enjoyable visit while with her.
When you meet Mr. Jackson, Mr Harry Bull, Mrs. Booth and family please tell them that I have been inquiring after them. I spent a very pleasant evening at Mrs. Booth's home followed by a wonderful night at the "Old Stone House" during which Mrs Bull entertained Wm. J. Bull and I with many interesting stories of the past and the next morning she and Mrs Ellwell? drove us over to Middleton.

Eddie Smith is well and is living alone he was much pleased with the pictures you took while here last summer. I let him read the letters you and Molly wrote and they seemed to put the notion in his head that he would like to go to Orange County, N.Y. some day.
Please tell Mrs Bull that I hope when we meet again we can have more time to get acquainted. Last summer we had such a short time and there was so many things to think about that we only had a glimpse of each other.
With Love and Best Wishes.
Most Sincerely Yours,
Andrew S. Beyea
