Obituary Transcription ...Napanoch and Sing Sing. ...graduated from Princeton College, N. J., in 1851. On November 25, 1859, he married Phebe, daughter of Ebenezer Bull and Jane Pearsall, of the old Stone House in Hamptonburgh. She died December 29, 1913. Eight children were born to them: Keturah, Elizabeth Pierson, Sarah Wells, William, Ebenezer, Jr., Harry, Barton Wright, and Charles Maurice. Keturah, William and Charles died many years ago. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren. William Bull was always deeply interested in the Hamptonburgh Church, as well as in his local town affairs and government. For many years he served as a Justice of the Peace in the town of Wallkill. He was instrumental in securing the postoffice at Stony Ford, and was appointed the first postmaster. He was a charter member of Stony Ford Grange, and maintained an interest in all farmers' organizations even through his last months of suffering and illness. Two years ago in February he fell and broke his hip, and while able to walk about, never fully recovered and had been feeble ever since. Mr. Bull was a man of the most sterling character, possessing a wealth of the nobler attributes—that go to make a man respected and loved in his community, carrying from childhood to the grave the respect of all his neighbors—the love of every one who knew him best. His memory will long linger as one of the brightest incidents in the lives of those with whom he so long associated, and he left a legacy of character that his children and his ancestors may ever be proud of. The funeral will be held from his late home Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. R. H. Stearns, pastor of the Campbell Hall Church, will conduct the services. Interment in Hamptonburgh cemetery.
