Woodstock N.B.
Aug 18/38
Dear Cousin Mary
Was very glad to get your nice letter with the kind invitation to stay with you,
but very sorry to say that we cannot accept after all as J.J.
wont be able to leave home as Florence isn't very well and makes
a terrible time if he leaves the place. I am afraid she is losing
her mind from what I hear But we got to the Bull picnic
at Presque Isle yesterday and had a very nice time there were
ten of us got there. And about 70 people present. They may meet here in Woodstock next year about the same time and perhaps some of you people
will be able to come. Miss Lucy Bull called here one day but I was in town. She seems a good sport and her father is a big husky man.
We have had a very wet summer too and it rained about all
day yesterday but they have a big hall that we could stay in.
Glad that your family are all well. Norman is away all the
time over near Bathurst now. But they are putting hard surface
on the roads here + I have two men boarding here for awhile
and it is a busy place around here now. Norman went fishing one day +
got a lot of lovely trout-one weighed 2 1/2 lbs cleaned. some fish
Thanking you again for your nice invitation and only hoped we
could of got there. But perhaps we can make it another year.
Lot of love to all the family.
Fannie Bull
