R.R. 3. Woodstock N.B. Feb 23/39 Dear Cos Mary + Bartow Often think of you people but haven't been able to write very much as I have been sick. Went to the hospital 6 October and had three operations for carbuncle on my neck and got home 27 October but had to have hot packs on my neck for six weeks every 4 hours and it has just really got better the first of the month and I am feeling rather bum yet. enclosed had a lot to bother him the last few years. We have had a big snowstorm and blow but today is nice + fine but cold. Thanks for the xmas cards I couldn't get out to get anything for Xmas this year. But we were out for a good turkey dinner. Hope that some of you people will be able to get out to see us, we have paved roads here now, all but near the border and that is going to be done this summer. is a picture of the Col taken at Fort Fairfield at the ice carnival It is made of ice. He is getting very thin. Has a hard time at home now with Florence, as she is getting very much off in the head think she is going to starve and now wants the old age pension + worth about $3000.00 so I hear. And who is going to get it. Well have bad news to tell you we are going to Mr. Perkins's funeral this afternoon. He had pneumonia + couldn't stand the strain at his age. He did enjoy life too, but This seems rather a mournful letter, but this time of year there is a lot of sickness. The grippe is going around here and a lot of sickness. Hope you people are all well and it will be nice to have summer again. I will try and write more often now. Lots of love to all the family Norman + Fannie
