Brought to Castine by the Rev. William Mason in the 1790's. Taken to Bangor when he retired.
Given to a Mass. resident, repaired by William Sawtell (Lincoln Center, Mass.) & given to the museum by Mrs. Joseph L. Snider, Kingston, Mass.
American Federal tall case clock in case of the period made of mahogany with satinwood string inlays. Reeded quarter columns with brass caps and plinths. Time and strike movements, painted moon phase dial. Brass ball finials on hood. c. 1790. Old finish. 93" h.
