Hcid / w08907 Baby's dress White cotton with pink diagonal design. Empire waist, drawstring neck and at sleeves. Open full length at back. Hand sewn Roland Howard estate Sept. 1988 Baby's dress of finely printed (cylinder print) cotton calico, red on white design of stylized floral sprigs arranged in diagonal stripe pattern. The dress has a high waistline, square neckline, and short sleeves that are gathered at the shoulder. The sleeves gather on a drawstring around the arm, creating a ruffle. The center back is open for the length of the dress. It fastens with a drawstring at the neckline, and probably would have fastened with a pin at the waistband. The skirt is lightly gathered into the waistband. The waistband and shoulder straps are lined with plain white cotton, lzb, 10/24/07
