Baby dress
Long, fine embroidery and eyelets, short sleeves (eyelet ruffles [4]), eleven tucks in skirt ending in embroidered edge.

White cotton baby dress, with square neckline edged with narrow eyelet embroidery. The bodice has a triangular panel in front, which is very finely embroidered in whitework, with stylized floral design which also includes plume motifs and pears. This panel is edged on the sides with separate strips of embroidery. The short sleeves are decorated with embroidery at the shoulder and three rows of ruffled eyelet above the scalloped and embroidered edge. The waistband is covered with simple eyelet embroidery. The long, full skirt is gathered into the waistband. It is decorated with four series of three tucks above the scalloped and embroidered hem. The back of the bodice has scalloped flaps at the neckline. The center back opening extends about 8 1/2 inches and fastens with a thread button at the waist and at the neckline." lzb, 1/31/08.Interpretative Labels
