Description

HUJ / w11986 Jug, about nine inches tall, soft brown in color. Wire handle with wood grip, has spout, and at the bottom, opposite side from spout, there is a hand grip for turning. Metal covers on spout and top. Old - antique. From G. J. Wilson's family - Corbett. 81/2" tall / 21" diam. at widest around jug. Used to carry a drink of molasses, vinegar and water (switchel) to the hay field for the men. Used in Georgia Johnson Wilson's family - around 1875 and/or earlier. Corbetville, New York, Broome County.
