Large paisley shawl, predominately red, with a small white center, and designs worked in black, golden yellow, green, and blue. Various elements of the shawl are woven separately and then stitched together. The border is made of individually embroidered squares of red, blue, yellow, black, green, and white wool, which are then stitched together. The shawl has a short self-fringe around all sides. The embroidery designs of the border imitate the exotic "buta" (better known as "paisley") motifs of the main body of the shawl, lzb, 4/29/08;Interpretative Labels
