Wooden Lace BobbinsEntry/Object ID
2011.4.7Description
A pair of wooden bobbins which would be used to make lace. Each bobbin would be wound with a long length of thread and hang down from the work so the ends of the threads aren't lost or tangled. Depending on the type and complexity of lace being made, someone might use up to 20 bobbins at a time. The different beads might help to differentiate which part of the stitch each bobbin is responsible for.Collection
