An American flag on a thin wooden pole, with two ribbons attached at the top. The base of the pole has threads as though it screws into a base or extension of the pole. The red ribbon has printed in gold "Charter Oak Troop 1979 Connecticut Trails Council of Girl Scouts." The yellow ribbon has the same except it says "1976." The yellow ribbon also has hand written in black marker "Brownie Troop # 5079." The Connecticut Trails Council of Girl Scouts was active from 1964 to 2008 at which point it merged with others to become the current Connecticut Trails Council. The flag itself only has 48 stars which indicates it was made between 1912, when Mexico and Arizona became states, and late 1959, when Hawaii and Alaska became states.Collection
