Description

Blue cardboard box containing 11 wooden spools of dark orchid cotton thread. The box was designed to hold 12 spools; one is missing. The side of the box reads: "Art. 400, American Thread Co., 12 Spools, Star Mercerized, Dk. Orchid, 507." The top of the box reads: "10 [cents] Retail." The box features several of the American Thread Company's star logo.

Use

ATCO's Star mercerized cotton thread was a six-ply cotton thread designed to be used with home sewing machines.
