Description

Originally chartered in 1835, this Class I railroad ran from Boston throughout Massachusetts, as well as to New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and Maine. It was a staple in establishing tourism in New England, and also transported various goods. This booklet outlines the railroad's route and things to do at the various stops. The front features an illustrated scene of a beach with many beachgoers, and two women and one man in the foreground, wearing beachwear typical of the 1890s.
