This is a large cardboard-bound book. The cover is black and white marbled with a tan spine and corners. There are some scratches on the cover as well as some fading from age.

Description

The first newspaper to be published in Willimantic was The Public Medium in January 1847. The Public Medium later changed its name to The Willimantic Journal. This is a bound collection of that newspaper from Jan. 3rd, 1890 to Dec. 25, 1891. This collection of newspapers was presented to the Saxton B. Little free library of Columbia CT by Dwight A. Lyman Editor.

Context

Saxton B. Little (1813-1907) was a prominent educator and benefactor to the Free Library of Columbia (later the Saxton B. Little Free Library). Earlier bound newspapers of this collection were owned and/or bound by Saxton B. Little himself.
