2024.9.35Scope and Content
Multiple drafts of the booklet "How We Make Our Thread" used by the American Thread Company. [Final version: catalog entry 2024.9.6] Most of the drafts are loose typewritten pages on onionskin paper. They are marked intermittently with both pen and pencil and do not appear to be cohesive from page to page. The most organized draft is also typewritten on onionskin paper and is neatly gathered and held together by two brass fasteners. The company's emblem is cut out of cardstock and pasted to the front below the title. All pages are yellowed and creased in different ways, and some pages are torn around the edges. The bound draft is 17 pages, the loose pages total 53.Context
The final version of this booklet was distributed to new employees of the American Thread Company.Collection
