Wooden case with a leather hinge, painted and inlaid with mother of pearl chips. There are two metal clasps to hold the case shut. The inside is lined with red fabric, with slots sewn in meant to hold knitting needles on one side and sewing needles and pins on the other. Between the two sides are two stiff fabric covered panels which keep the sides from touching. In addition to three steel knitting needles and an assortment of bare sewing needles, the kit includes two packs of Edward Holt sewing needles. They are wrapped in brown paper with intact labels which read "EDWARD HOLT/ Pin Maker/ Ne Plus Ultra/ Drilld Eydsharps/ Warranted the very/ FIRST QUALITY." The label also includes the rough portrait of a woman with a crown on top of the border around her.Collection
