Jacquard loom. Constructed mostly of wood. The heddles are made of steel. The presence of joiners' marks indicates that it was not constructed of interchangeable parts. Manufacturer unknown. Probably manufactured in Europe between 1804 (when it was invented) and 1830. The joiners' marks are Roman numerals, indicating a European manufacture. Some replacement parts have Japanese writing on them. Some parts are missing.Collection
