This wooden coin was created for the 150th anniversary, or sesquicentennial, of Tallmadge, OH which was founded in 1807. The front of the coin features the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, as well as the celebratory dates, June 9-15, 1957. The back reads "Good in trade in Tallmadge, Ohio/ Redeemable at Mogadore Savings Bank June 13-14-15 1957" with "5c" superimposed in red behind the text. As indicated, this token could have been taken to the bank on the dates given in exchange for 5 cents. A set of metal coins was also minted with the same details, however that coin could be exchanged for 50 cents.Collection
