Description

A bound collection of newspapers primarily of the Willimantic Journal from January 5th 1900 to January 11th 1901.

Context

The first newspaper to be published in Willimantic was The Public Medium in January 1847. The Public Medium later changed its name to The Willimantic Journal. This is a bound collection of that newspaper from Jan. 5th 1900 to Jan 11th 1901 (Willimantic Journal). This bound collection also includes other newspapers inserted throughout including the Manchester half-weekly Herald and Meriden Morning Record. From an inscription on the inside cover, we know that these newspapers were previously compiled by Saxton B. Little to be given to the Columbia Free Library which would later become the Saxton B. Little Free Library
