Wedgwood china dinnerware set. The donor writes: "I was given the Wedgwood china set on the occasion of my husband, of blessed memory, and my first and only home, in Willimantic, CT. My father, of blessed memory, Irving Liss, was a veteran of WWII's 101st Airborne, and was an immigrant of E. Europe. With an 8th grade education and an eye and talent for art, he took to restaurant management and later an antique shop, where he refinished furniture, bought and sold china, and other sundries. In Gettysburg, PA where I grew up, there was the Sameth family, Holocaust survivors who had the set before they sold it to my father. I have enjoyed using the china for Thanksgiving dinners and Passover Seders. I felt it was time to give the lovely set for the public to enjoy and my first choice is the Mill Museum. I think the set, based on the Wedgwood trademark and the Royal Stone collection, dates between 1860 and 1880."
