Description

Boy Scouts of America uniform circa 1937. Includes a short sleeve button up khaki shirt (owned by John Champe of Lebanon, CT) with patch and badge for Troop 58, stained at the waist; brown campaign hat with official insignia in the hat band; a faded red and white neckerchief with metal slide featuring the insignia of the 1937 BSA Jamboree in Washington, DC; a green long sleeve button up shirt belonging to "F. Jackson"; and a multi-colored striped stole. The Boy Scouts of America were founded in 1910, modeled after the Boy Scouts Association in England. A Christian organization, scouts are expected to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
