2025.71.10Description
A metal square with cloth measuring tape attached in the inner corner so that it can rotate. On the square are printed men's and women's common proportions "without additions," as well as a short list of Croonborg's publications. The "Supreme Measuring Square" was copyrighted in 1912 by Frederick T. Croonborg, famous in the fashion industry for his design and tailoring techniques. Listed on the square is Croonborg's "Blue Book" of men's and women's tailoring, which was to be followed in 1917 with his "Red Book" of tailoring which explained his "New Supreme System," of which this may be a tool.Collection
