A collection of newspapers from the Willimantic Journal from January 1908 to December 1908. Also contains newspaper articles from various other newspapers including, The New York Tribune, The Lewis Independent (out of Lewis Cass County Iowa), and The Minneapolis Journal.Context
The first newspaper to be published in Willimantic was The Public Medium in January 1847. The Public Medium later changed its name to The Willimantic Journal. This is a bound collection of that newspaper from Jan. 3rd, 1896 to Dec. 31, 1897 (Willimantic Journal). The New York Tribune published articles from 1941 to 1924 before merging with the New York Herald to form The New York Herald Tribune. The Minneapolis Journal first began publishing in 1878. After merging and changing ownership the Minneapolis Journal became The Star Tribune in 1987.Collection
