Context

Alfred Pierce Beckwith of South Windham, CT was an active duty aircraft mechanic in the USAF from 1957 to 1961, and served two additional years in the reserves, being honorably discharged in 1963. Beckwith originally joined the Air Force alongside his cousin John "Skip" Doubleday of Lebanon CT. Before his death, Beckwith was the owner of AP-n-Son small engine repair. His grandfather was a carpenter who worked on building the Windham Town Hall.
