WWII Era Pouch with Ration Stamps and Coins

Name/Title

WWII Era Pouch with Ration Stamps and Coins

Entry/Object ID

2024.63.6

Description

A black cloth pouch, possibly homemade, with three unused blue ration stamps and three celluloid one red point coins. The stamps likely fell out of their book and were saved, though some retailers did not accept stamps that they didn't tear out themselves because of the prevalence of black market stamps. The coins were issued to retailers to use as change for stamp transactions.
