A newspaper clipping from the Daily Willimantic Chronicle, dated November 15, 1962, of the article "Hill Given Silber Beaver, Highest Scout Honor." The accompanying photograph shows Charles W. Hill Sr. (left) receiving the award in the form of a medal from Roland I. Laramie (right), the council executive committeeman, while Hill's wife Hattie looks on. The photograph is from the Dinneen Studio. From the Boy Scouts of America website, "the Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council‐level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council."
