Name/Title
Bone and Chiffon Fan with Lace and Sequins c1900Entry/Object ID
2024.47.2Description
A hand fan with bone spines and white chiffon fabric. There is also white lace at the top and tiny black sequins sewn in throughout. This fan is in very poor condition, the chiffon is flaking and disintegrating, making it impossible to open the fan all the way without damaging it further. The metal hook at the end, used both to hold the fan together and to attach it to the user, is also broken. The bone pieces are delicately carved with floral patterns. Circa 1900.Collection
