The first newspaper to be published in Willimantic was The Public Medium in January 1847. The Public Medium later changed its name to The Willimantic Journal. This is a bound collection of that newspaper. These newspapers were either owned or bound by Saxton B. Little (1813-1907) who was a prominent educator and benefactor to the Free Library of Columbia (later the Saxton B. Little Free Library).Collection
