The Big Bear Cub Scout BookEntry/Object ID
2025.32.1Description
A manual given to Bear rank cub scouts. The cover features an illustration of a bear in scout uniform with his hand on a sign that reads "God/ Country/ Family/ Self." Scouts are Bear rank when they are in 3rd grade. The cub scout ranks are Lion (Kindergarten), Tiger (1st grade), Wolf (2nd grade), Bear (3rd grade), and Webelo (4th and 5th grade or until they join a Boy Scout Troop). The book is filled with activities and advice, both for gaining various badges within their rank as well as for life in general. The first page of the book is intended for the scout to fill in with their name and other information about their scout group. It appears that this page had been filled out in pencil but was then erased. The writing is apparent but no longer legible. The covers and binding of this book are well worn but the pages are in good condition.Collection
