2024.30.2Description
Five boxes of ATCO Star Tatting Cotton for colors: Iridescent No. 2 (164), Peach (124), Shaded Greens (140), Lavender (125), Shaded Oranges (137). Tatting is a knotted lace making technique that dates back to ancient times. It utilizes a small shuttle to knot the thread by hand. Typically used to make edgings for handkerchiefs, table cloths, clothing, etc, the technique is thought to have originated in the making of fishing nets since a similar shuttle is used for that purpose. Each box is meant to hold 12 balls of thread and they actually contain between 9 and 12 full balls each, not all necessarily of the color listed on the box.Collection
