The KKK experienced a revival in the 1910s and 1920s, and expanded into the northern United States, especially along the border with Canada. Factors leading to the revival were the Great Migration of African Americans from the South to the North, and migration of Jewish and Catholic immigrants (esp. French Canadians) into Northern cities. In 1920, the KKK had 18,000 members in CT. In 1927, it had members in 27 states.Collection
