Windham Trivia Board Game 1986Entry/Object ID
2026.13.1Description
A board game created in 1986 by the Windham Federation of Teachers. Designed to be played by up to eight players or teams, the object of the game is to reach Town Hall on the board by answering trivia questions about Windham.
The game includes:
-a black and white printed box
-a black and white printed folding game board measuring 24" square when unfolded
-two decks of cards, one in a red cardboard case and the other in a blue carboard case
-a ziplock bag with eight multicolored pieces of wood measuring on average 3/4" cubed
-a rubber banded stack of printed multicolored cards
-printed instructions in both English and Spanish.
The decks of cards in red and blue cases are presumed identical with the exception that the red deck is in Spanish and the blue deck is in English. One side of each card presents four trivia questions, while the opposite side features the answers. The instruction packet includes a list of all the partnering businesses and organizations who contributed to the game's creation, as well as a statement that the game is "dedicated to John Cates and all the men and women who have lived in Windham after him," John Cates being and Englishman lauded as Windham's "first settler" in 1689.
The outer box has mildew damage but the rest of the game is in good condition. The board itself is stiff and does not lie flat when unfolded.
There are three additional copies of this game in the museum's collection.Collection
