Attachments, instructional booklets, and other paraphernalia for a Singer No. 99-13 (Attachments 120360) lock stitch sewing machine, with knee control, for family use. Includes (top left to bottom right): Singer buttonholer instruction booklet; tube of Singer sewing machine oil; notice about turning the sewing machine on and off; glass vial for holding extra needles and pins; pocket watch case; adjustable hemmer; plastic buckle; three-pong socket for attaching electric cord to machine; specialized presser foot (hemmer?); specialized presser foot (hemmer?); screwdriver; brush; instruction booklet; ?; adjustable hemmer; ruffler; cloth guide; razor blades; brush; ?; ?; screw (probably for securing the sewing machine to its base); specialized presser foot. The Singer 99-13 was manufactured in the early 20th century. The manual included in the donation carries the copyright dates 1915, 1920, 1923, 1924, and 1925. Singer's 99's were one of the first sewing machines advertised as totally "portable," although at around 25 pounds (including the case) they weighed much more than the later featherweights. The cases had hollow wooden bottoms and "beehive" (vaulted) wooden covers. The 99's were about 3/4 the size of Singer's previous 66's.
