Alex, who will be 17 in August, has two younger sisters in Germany, as he will have here. Mr. and Mrs. Weisner have four children; two boys and two girls. Their oldest son, Ron, who is 17, is himself an AFS Exchange Student in South Morang, Victoria, Australia. He will return in January, while Alex is still with his family. The other Weisner children are Mark, 15, Robin Ann, 10, and Wendy, 5.
In his application, Alex expressed an interest in languages and history, as well as a variety of sports. He also stated that he has participated in Church youth activities.
In a letter which he recently wrote to the Weisner family, Alex expressed his feeling that the day on which he received his American Assignment was "the happiest day of my life." He also said that his entire family is excited for him.
Mrs. Weisner, in speaking for her family, expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for this opportunity to welcome a new member into their family. They are all looking forward to Alex's August arrival and to sharing the coming year with him.
