Area exchange students' final party of year AFS Exchange students from Snow Hill, Pocomoke City and other parts of the Easter Shore of Maryland and Delaware met in Ocean City June 12 for an orientation session directed toward returning foreign students, their hosts and departing U.S. students. The more than 30 young men and women represented 21 different nations in the world under the auspices of AFS International/Intercultural Programs. The 21 foreign students winding up a ten month stay on Delmarva are anticipating the return to their families yet reluctant to leave their "second families" in the U.S. They depart their local communites in late June and early July to join other AFS'ers in a two-week bus trip which culminates an international departure sites in mid-July. Included in the day's sessions were host brothers and sisters, Americans Abroad Students about to depart as well as several who have returned from AFS trips, abroad, foreign students ending their stay in the U.S. students who have participated in an exchange to other states and volunteer AFS group leaders. Worcester County young people who attended included: Wynel Cooper of Snow Hill, Bebe Ryan of Pocomoke City, and Ray Shephard of Showell. who were all host brothers and sisters. Lisa Dennis of Snow Hill will travel to Panama and Jackie Baine of Snow Hill will participate in the USA program to California. AFS foreign students about to depart for their homelands after living almost a year in Worcester included: Lesley Murray of the United Kindom and at Pocomoke High School, Rita Barchetti of Italy and at Snow Hill High School and Nelson Hincapie of Columbia and at Stephen Decatur High School.
