MINUTES OF ADVISORY COUNCIL Feb. 19, 1953 The executive Council of Worcester County Homemakers Clubs held their February Meeting on the 19th in the Court House at Snow Hill. Mrs. Preston Bounds, our Vice President presided. Mrs. Stagg being unable to be with us due to the death of her Mother-in-law. Mrs. Bounds read a "Collect" followed by all repeating the Lords Prayer and the Homemakers Creed. The secretery's minutes were read and approved. Our treasurer reported a balance of $56.82. Each Club President was asked to have her treasurer send in their club dues. Miss Cole reported on the Rural Womens Short Course to be held from June 15 to the 20th. The Registration dues will be either $18, or $20. There will be less speakers and more classes. Folk dances, a Silver Tee and a pageant by the different counties are scheduled, but no Fiesta. The tenative plans for a Fashion Show were postponed indefinitely. Mrs. Edgar Wilkerson extended an invitation to the Homemakers Clubs from Mrs. Myrtle Polk to be her guest on March 11, at Annapolis. Mrs. Wilkerson was made Chairman to plan for the trip and transportation. The Spring Meeting was discussed and Mrs. Lee Jones was made chairman. The following announcements were made concerning the Spring Meeting: Mrs. Florence Low, our new Home Demonstration Agent Leader, will be our guest. Lamp Shades, Chair Caning, etc will be on exhibit. A Corsage Contest is planned. Interesting reports were given by Mrs. Charles Hudson, Snow Hill, Mrs. Ray Redden, Pocomoke, Health Chairman, Mrs. Bennett Beauchamp, Pocomoke, County Short Course President and Mrs. Robert Grant, Snow Hill, Chairman of the Nurses Scholarship Fund. Mrs. Grant reported that the Scholarship fund showed a balance of $15.50. It was moved and seconded that each club will make a donation again this year. Meeting adjourned.
