Blade: Leaf-shaped with short baluster-shaped bolster of octagonal section; the base partly etched and gilded on each face with a shaped panel of arabesque scroll-work which extends onto the bolster.
Handle: Flattened octagonal section, with trilobed ivory top set with discs and arched panels of amber over gold foil painted in colour with hunting scenes, figures of a Knight and a Lady, and flowers: the remainder of the handle comprises a large central section of amber, with, above and below, shorter sections of narrow bands of varying thickness, of amber and ivory separated by brass shims; the ivory bands are variously set with small discs of amber, or are stained black or green; some of the amber bands are over foil painted with animals and flowers, and, in some instances, set with rectangles of ivory, themselves each with a central amber disc.Collection
