Description

Blade of wide cleaver-like shape, with straight back, chamfered on one side toward the point, and very slightly convex edge sloping slightly toward the deep chisel-shaped point; short hemispherical bolster. Handle of silver, cast in form of two lovers embracing dressed in the style of about 1640, and standing on a low oval-section plinth. She holds a fan in her right hand. There are traces of an inscription, in 18th century scrip, on the ferrule.
