Description

Of cast and gilded brass, the finial in the form of a woman in early 17th century costume, cut off at hip. She holds a small drum under her left arm, with her hand behind her back, and is beating it with a stick held in her other hand. The handle decorated in white, black and blue champleve enamel with a design of opposing S-scrolls and stylised leaves against a slightly sunken matted ground, covered with punched dots.
