Handle slightly waisted and tapering, of wood, rectangular in section with rounded sides: screwed to one end is a brass plate, with a hinged brass plate, with shaped end, which locks into a vertical position at 90 degrees to the base; to each brass plate are screwed the two parts of the nib cutter and shaper: to operate, the quill is inserted in the end under the raised lever, which is then depressed, effectively cutting the nib end. At the other end, is a pen knife of standard form, which folds away between brass and steel spacers in the handle. The wood has been filed away and part broken off at the cutter end on one side.Collection
