Presentation set of five ivory handled carvers in an oak case lined with velvet. 285.01 Large knife: Blade made of double sheer, carbon steel, hand forged in the old manner and decorated with the arms and motto of the Company of Cutlers, London. The handle is carved with hunting motifs (elephants). 285.02 Large fork: Stainless steel 285 03 Steel: Handle carved as? 285.04 Small knife: Blade as large knife. Handle carved as young lovers implying 'a fair game of love' is being depicted - a pun on the word 'game' as this knife is intended for carving game. 285.05 Small fork: Stainless steel.
