Type A-2 Flying Jacket, brown leather. For use by US Army Air Forces flying personnel. This example worn by William D. Tompkins, Tuskegee Airman. "Army Air Forces" with logo stamped inside collar. Manufacturer's label inside collar: TYPE A-2 / DRAWING NO 30-1415 / A.C. ORDER NO 1756 / PROPERTY AIR FORCE / US ARMY". Brown cotton, elasticized waist and cuffs. Two front pockets with snap buttons. Zipper down front.
