Description

Firearm, Walther P-38, semi-automatic pistol, 9mm. Made in Germany, used by Nazi Germany during World War II. This pistol was collected as a souvenir or trophy by American serviceman Robert Hoisel (692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion). Pistol has black bakelite grips (degraded slightly to a marbled brown color) with fluting all around. Markings on pistol: "P 38 ac 42" "4678c" on left side of chamber area. Three tiny German Wehrmacht markings (swastikas and wings) stamped into the metal on right side of chamber, two of which read "569" just below. "4678" and "c" and another swastika symbol with "569" on trigger, left side "4678 / c" at very front of chamber, below barrel.
