Souvenir Bell, made for RAF Benevolent Fund. The Bucks Diecasting Company in Burnham, England, claimed that these bells were made from the metal retrieved from German aircraft wreckage in Britain. In raised molded lettering around lower edge of bell: "CAST WITH METAL FROM GERMAN AIRCRAFT DESTROYED OVER BRITAIN 1939-1945" and "RAF BENEVOLENT FUND". The bell is a very lightweight metal, probably aluminum. Silver in color all over. It has raised molded portraits of the heads of Churchill, Stalin, and Roosevelt around the exterior. The knob or handle at top has a flat top, decorated with a raised molded "V" (for victory) encircled by the morse code for "victory". Small brass clapper inside the bell. Up inside the bell at highest point in interior in raised molded lettering: "THE BUCKS DIECASTING CO. LTD BURNHAM". Seams from molding process are visible on sides of bell.Update Date
