To harness yourself to ropes for rock climbing

Context

This is in the museums interactive display. It is an older edition of a Black Diamond harness. The belt loops on this harness would need to be locked by feeding the end of the cord back through the clip, however some people forgot to do this and would make the harness unsafe. Now Black Diamond has manufactured harnesses with different buckles.
