An early edition of a Chouinard Equipment Stopper manufactured by Tom Frost and Yvon Chouinard. The early stoppers had nylon cord slung through, however it was difficult to thread the thick rope through the nut. The reason was that thicker the cord, the stronger the device was. Now stoppers are all manufactured with a swaged wire design that is stronger and easier.Collection
