Piece of Goldline rope with two pre-slung machine nuts and a manufactured one by Troll. The photo inside shows a sign that restricted climbing because of piton damage. The two areas that were closed were at Swan Slab and Serenity Crack. Both areas opened back up once clean climbing was popular.

Description

A piece of Goldline Rope with three nuts. Three nuts are attached, one manufactured by CLOG.

Use

Instead of pitons, nuts would fit in a crack to attach yourself to the rock.

Context

In the UK, climbers did not use or believe in using pitons. They manufactured nuts instead that were placed into cracks at different angles and widths. This Goldline Rope includes one nut manufactured by CLOG, a Welsh company that was one of the first to make clean climbing gear.
